Description
List of poisonous plants to dogs free download.
This list has been compiled by the Dogs Trust of harmful plants to dogs.
Plants not on this list are considered as “pet-safe” and are generally considered non-toxic, however individual dogs may still experience digestive upset, allergic reactions, or other health issues if they are consumed. Additionally, some plants may be treated with pesticides, fertilisers, or other chemicals that could be harmful to pets.
Garden owners should always:
- Consult a veterinarian before introducing new plants, especially if their dog has a history of sensitivities.
- Verify plant safety through reputable sources such as the Dogs Trust or UK-based pet health organisations.
- Monitor pet behaviour in the garden to ensure they are not excessively chewing or ingesting plants.
- Avoid chemical treatments that could make even non-toxic plants hazardous.
If a pet shows signs of poisoning—such as vomiting, lethargy, or unusual behaviour—seek veterinary care immediately.
