Clay soil is notoriously difficult to work with and most people think you can’t have a beautiful border, but this kit shows you how to create a welcoming garden to relax in.  This design makes the perfect gift for someone special who has moved into a new-build property.

The border measures 3m x 1m, but can easily be adapted to fit any size or shape of border.

WHY BUY A READY-MADE GARDEN BORDER?

Having a lovely garden completes the home and it makes you feel good when you’re looking out of the window, or lazing in the garden with friends having a BBQ. It’s a great place to unwind after a busy day. Having clay soil may make you think it’s not possible to have pretty flowers, but my kits show you how to achieve a stunning garden with ease.

If your garden is water-logged (especially in winter) you will need to add organic matter and grit to help with drainage.  Alternatively you can build a raised bed and the plants will still thrive in a loam soil. I have designed this border to give you the best of both worlds.

All designs contain a mixture of perennials (plants that die back in the winter and return in the spring) and evergreen plants. The plans have taller plants at the back of the border, with shorter plants at the front of the border which provides a tiered effect. The taller plants will grow to around 1m in height but can be pruned to the required height and shape.
