How to Sow Your Wildflower Seeds

Wildflowers thrive in low‑fertility soil, so avoid adding compost or fertiliser before sowing. Clear the area of weeds, rake the soil to create a fine surface, and scatter the seeds evenly. Lightly press them into the soil — do not cover them, as most wildflower seeds need light to germinate. Autumn and early spring are the best sowing times in the UK. Once established, wildflowers need very little maintenance: cut back the area in late summer and remove the cuttings to keep nutrient levels low.

Even a small sunny patch can provide food, shelter and biodiversity for bees, butterflies and other beneficial insects.

*Please note, we cannot guarantee all varieties will be included in each individual packet.
