A herb seed gift box is a lovely present for anyone who loves the taste and convenience of fresh herbs growing on their windowsill or garden border.  With wooden plant labels to identify what is growing where and avoids mistaking them for weeds. Mint

The smell of fresh mint is very uplifting. This variety can grow quite large, so it’s best to grow it in a pot on your patio. It will die down over winter and emerge again in the spring. Keep watered and dead headed for longer harvesting period.  Seedlings usually appear 14-28 days after sowing. They prefer a sheltered sunny spot.

Common Thyme

Thyme is a perennial herb with small scented leaves. Excellent used sparingly with poultry, meat and game, and in soups. Personally, I love it instead of oregano on pizza and pasta. It can be easily grown in pots on the windowsill and is equally at home in your garden border.

Basil Summer Surprise

This variety has deep purple leaves and stems which make a colourful alternative to the common green basil in a wide range of dishes, including salads, pasta, pizza and tomato dishes. It can also be grown as a microgreen on a windowsill – and is ready in just 21 days!
