One of my favourite spring flowers – masses of tiny pale blue flowers with white or yellow centres. They grow in sun/part sun to around 30cm tall, so they’re ideal for the front of the border, and look fabulous planted in containers with tulips.
This particular variety has white, pink and blue flowers which grow to around 40cm tall – ideal for the front of a sunny border. It. By sowing seeds over several weeks they can provide a continual show of flowers from June-October.
They’re a mixed colour and look best in the mid/back of the border to add some height, colour and texture. They’ll grow to around 90cm tall and bloom from May-June. They are biennial which means they will flower in the second year after planting. However, this variety, if you sow the seeds early in the year, they will flower the same year. Ideal for a sunny or shady border and may self-seed.
Another annual flower loved by butterflies and bees. This variety grows to around 40-60cm tall and will look fabulous in the middle/front of the border next to the lupins to create more texture. They will flower from June to October (or first frosts) as long as you deadhead regularly. They have pretty pink flowers.
are tall with slender stems with a purple bobble type flower head. They grow to around 1.2m tall and are best suited to the back of the border. Loved by pollinators too. Sow indoors January-April.
All seeds can be simply scattered directly into the soil to make the growing process very simple. The wooden plant labels will enable you to mark out where your seeds are in the border to make them easily identifiable – so you don’t dig them up by mistake thinking you have lots of weeds!
These seed gift boxes make a lovely present as a standalone item, or why not purchase a bird feeder which I can gift wrap together for you. You can purchase gift wrap and a card from my online shop and I can write the card for you at no extra cost.
The seeds are provided by Mr Fothergill’s in foil sachets.
